EDITION 2024
Let’s simulate!
Join Symkaton, a competition for creative engineering solutions and computer simulation enthusiasts.

Qualifiers
01.04. – 01.06.2024
Qualifier results
17.06.2024
Finals
26-27.09.2024
Qualifiers take place remotely, teams send their submissions online.
The qualifier task is to design a durable solid connector (e.g. a hook) within specified engineering constraints. The solution must be designed and tested by the participants in the ANSYS simulation environment. The top ten teams will be selected for finals based on simulation reports and experimental tests conducted by the organisers.

A detailed description of the task will be sent after team registration. The submission form can be found at the bottom of this page.
Finals will take place at Akademia Górniczo-Hutnicza in Kraków, Poland. The teams selected in the qualifiers will have 24 hours to solve the task revealed on the day of the finals. The goal of the final task will be to optimise a device or a process using ANSYS software. 3D printers will be available for participants to manufacture a working prototype.
The winning team will be selected through experimental tests.
Awards
We want the prizes to be the most attractive to you, so share your opinion on which of the listed items you would choose:
Who can participate in the competition?
Student teams comprising 2–3 members (bachelor’s or master’s students) can participate in the competition. Basic knowledge of ANSYS software is required.
The sign-up list closes after the first 100 registrations.
A condition of participation is acceptance of the terms and conditions.

Evaluation of qualifiers results
Projects will be evaluated based on the simulation reports and experimental tests. Only complete submissions (including the completed form, project and proof of use of Ansys software) will be subject to the evaluation stage. The top ten teams will be selected for finals.
